CONFLUENCE 2025

Skull Dogs Media attended ConFluence 2025, a community-organized convention celebrating the art, imagination, and stories of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Centered on speculative fiction, fandom, sci-fi, futurisms, and fantasy, Confluence creates space for BIPOC artists and fans to see themselves as the heroes, creators, and visionaries of their own worlds.

During the event, we filmed three panels - “Controversial Corners of Star Wars,” “In the Multiverse With You: Grief, Film, and Multiverse Theories,” and “Collaborative Storytelling (In Gaming and Beyond)” — each exploring creativity, representation, and connection through different lenses of pop culture and storytelling.

Step into the galaxy’s hottest debates with Olivia Plautz, Isaac Plautz, and Taj Webster as they dive into the Controversial Corners of Star Wars! Recorded live at Confluence 2025, this panel unpacks some of the most talked-about topics in the Star Wars universe - from Reva (the Third Sister) in Obi-Wan Kenobi, to the discourse surrounding The Acolyte and The Force Awakens. Join the conversation as the hosts explore fan reactions, representation, storytelling choices, and the evolving legacy of a galaxy far, far away.

What happens when the multiverse isn’t just science fiction — but a mirror for our grief, memories, and spiritual selves? Join Nia Navarro and Ruti Mejia for an unforgettable discussion that blurs the lines between theory, emotion, and experience. Filmed live at Confluence 2025, In the Multiverse With You: Grief, Film, and Multiverse Theories explores how stories of parallel realities can help us process loss, healing, and identity.

Storytelling is at its best when it’s shared. 🎲✨ Join Aabria Iyengar, Duaba Unenra, and David Valentine for Collaborative Storytelling (In Gaming and Beyond) — a deep dive into the art of building worlds, weaving narratives, and creating unforgettable characters together. Filmed live at Confluence 2025, this panel explores how collaboration fuels creativity in tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons and beyond
